Change of REYHER article numbers from 1 January 2025
Systematically organised REYHER article numbers are an important tool for our operational business. After 20 years, we had to reorganise the structure of REYHER article numbers and add three digits to the article numbers. This changeover is being carried out as part of the introduction of S/4HANA and may impact any master data stored at our suppliers.
Current status: Conversion completed. The new REYHER article numbers are active.
The introduction of S/4HANA is complete. The new article numbers are now active. We provide a complete comparison of the old and new REYHER article numbers here.

Article number structure
Like the previous article numbers, the new ones also follow a systematic pattern. The new structure is as follows:
6 digits Group code; corresponds to the standard number
5 digits Feature code; encodes the properties of the article
7 digits Dimension code; contains the dimensions
This results in a total of 18 digits
Example: Item number 004017081000080060
004017 = Group code; ISO 4017
08100 = Feature code; Material: 8.8, surface: electro-galvanised, shape and design: standard
0080060 = Dimension code; M8x60
To aid legibility, article numbers are separated by full stops as usual on our printed (PDF) receipts.
Example: Item number 004017.08100.0080.060
Comparison of old and new article numbers
- One digit has been added to the group code.
- Two digits have been added to the characteristic code.
- We still do not use full stops in EDI documents.

Who is affected by the article number changeover?
Users of our portals will be affected by the change of article numbers in particular:
- Supplier portal
- REYHER Extranet (REX)
If you use these numbers, please check individually what impact the new article numbers will have on your internal processes and whether you will have to update the article numbers. You will find further information on the detailed pages about the affected processes:
EDI - Electronic Data Interchange with simultaneous use of the supplier portal
When should the article numbers be updated?
We have completed the SAP S/4 HANA conversion and the new REYHER article numbers are active. Whether an update of the article number is necessary for our suppliers depends on the individual process and the software systems behind it. See also the chapter "Who is affected by the article number conversion?". If you are affected, please change the numbers.
Standardisation as part of the changeover of article numbers
As part of the changeover to the new article numbers, it is planned to convert ISO sales items to inventory management. This will result in an alternating allocation of DIN and corresponding ISO articles for some items. This step will only be carried out for items that are technically identical.
