Change of REYHER article numbers from 1 January 2025
Systematically organised REYHER article numbers are an important tool for our operational business. After 20 years, we have had to reorganise the structure of REYHER article numbers and add three digits to the article numbers. This changeover is being carried out as part of the introduction of S/4HANA and may impact any master data stored at our customers.
Current status: Conversion completed. The new REYHER article numbers are active.
The introduction of S/4HANA is complete. The new article numbers are now active and can be processed by us. We provide a complete comparison of the old and new REYHER article numbers here.

Our digital processes and systems will be affected by the change in article numbers in particular.
EDI – Electronic Data Interchange
Web shop RIO – REYHER-Internet Order
Kanban – ROM – REYHER Order Management
If you use these numbers, please check individually what impact the new article numbers will have on your internal processes and whether you will have to update the article numbers.
Since the SAP S/4 HANA conversion is now complete, the new article numbers are now included in our documents. Whether an update of the article number in your systems is necessary depends on the individual procurement process and the software systems behind it. See also the block "Who is affected by the article number conversion?". If you are affected, please change the numbers.

Orders can still be placed using the old article number.
If you use a procurement portal, we will take care of replacing the article master data record stored there.
It is planned to convert ISO sales items to inventory management as part of the changeover to the new article numbers. This will result in an alternating allocation of DIN and corresponding ISO articles for some items. This step will only be carried out for items that are technically identical.
Like the previous article numbers, the new ones also follow a systematic pattern. The new structure is as follows:
6 digits Group code; corresponds to the standard number
5 digits Feature code; encodes the properties of the article
7 digits Dimension code; contains the dimensions
This results in a total of 18 digits
Example: Item number 004017081000080060
004017 = Group code; ISO 4017
08100 = Feature code; Material: 8.8, surface: electro-galvanised, shape and design: standard
0080060 = Dimension code; M8x60
To aid legibility, article numbers are separated by full stops as usual on our printed (PDF) receipts.
Example: Item number 004017.08100.0080.060
In our electronic systems (EDI, e-catalogues) we transfer the numbers without dots.
The characteristic code can be translated into individual property values (what are known as classifying characteristics) using internal allocation tables. For use in customer systems, however, using electronic data records (e-catalogues) already containing direct classifying characteristics is advantageous.
- One digit has been added to the group code.
- Two digits have been added to the characteristic code.
- We are still only using full stops in printed documents, not in EDI, e-catalogues or the web shop.
On this website we will provide you with a mapping of the previous to the new article numbers when they are activated.
