Kranbau Köthen GmbH, a long-standing REYHER customer with headquarters in Köthen, Saxony-Anhalt, recently created a true giant - and sent it on its way: a ladle transport crane in two-girder design with a span of 40 m and a deadweight of over 900 tonnes. This is the largest two-girder process crane the company has ever built.
REYHER also played an important role in the construction of the crane: all the connecting elements that have been installed for the construction of the crane since the beginning of 2020 have been delivered to Köthen by means of our Kanban system ROM - REYHER Order Management.
The crane manufacturer has been sourcing its fasteners from REYHER since 1990 and relies on the efficient and reliable Kanban supply. The articles that the crane manufacturer regularly buys from us include, above all, HV fittings as well as galvanised and hot-dip galvanised hexagonal bolts and nuts.
The crane was sent on its journey to Duisburg at the end of April: After assembly, it will serve as a centre crane with a load capacity of up to 390 tonnes for two continuous slab casters in the casting hall "Oxygenstahlwerk 2" of Thyssenkrupp Stahl Gießwerk Duisburg Beeckerwerth. There, it will lift almost 70 ladles weighing several hundred tonnes every day - at an ambient temperature of up to 60 °C. A place of operation made for fasteners from REYHER.
You can find many more details about the construction and journey of the ladle transport crane in a detailed article on the website of our customer Kranbau Köthen (german).
