For the next 100 days it's running, cycling and swimming for a good cause! After last year's UKE charity run was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic, the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is starting today with a completely new format. The goal is to cover 10,000 km by 29 August 2021 together with all supporters and to collect donations in the process. Dr Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Labour, Health, Social Affairs, Family and Integration in Hamburg, will give the virtual starting signal today.
This year, the proceeds will go to the Children's Competence Centre at the UKE. The Children's Competence Centre offers a place to go for children and young people who are examined and treated in cases of suspected abuse, neglect and sexual abuse.
We are also supporting the UKE charity run again with a large team of employees and are already very excited to see how many kilometres we can contribute.
You can find more information about the charity run on the UKE website and on the page of the Children's Competence Centre.
